About ECR Community

ECR Community is the global association for all ECR National & Partner organisations in the Retail & Consumer Product Group sector. It is a not-for-profit that provides a neutral platform to develop and share best practices among our network of ECR Nationals and their members.

The purpose of the ECR Nationals is to bring together manufacturers, retailers, service providers and industry associations at a national level to share best practice information in areas that are mutually beneficial such as supply chain, category management, sustainability and digital transformation.

Our Board

ECR Community is governed by a Board of Directors, who are selected from our ECR National & Partner organisations. The board is chaired by two co-chairs.

Declan Carolan
Declan CarolanCO-CHAIR / ECR IRELAND
Declan is Co-Chair of ECR Community and General Manager of ECR Ireland. Prior to this, he worked with Superquinn supermarket chain in Ireland for thirteen years, latterly as Head of Supply Chain. He has a Marketing Degree from Trinity College, Dublin and an M.B.A. in Retailing & Wholesaling from the University of Stirling.
Leonel Pava
Leonel PavaCO-CHAIR / ECR COLOMBIA
Leonel is Executive Director of LOGYCA and responsible for ECR Colombia. He works with a wide range of retail companies to facilitate collaboration across their commercial and marketing activities.
Xavier Hua
Xavier HuaTREASURER / ECR FRANCE
Managing Director of ECR France since 2011. Xavier brings over 20 years of expertise in Supply Chain Management and is an expert in retail, consumer goods and consulting.
Silvia Scalia
Silvia ScaliaDIRECTOR / ECR ITALY
Responsible for ECR Italy, Silvia has over 15 years’ experience in food tractability and training. With a degree in Economics from the University of Pavia she has worked for both Nestlé and IIR (Institute for International Research).
John Fonteijn
John FonteijnDIRECTOR / RETAIL LOSS GROUP
John is Head Asset Protection GSO at Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize, an area he has over 30 years’ experience in. With a Masters’ in Business Administration and Management, he is also a Director of ECR Community and leader of the ECR Shrink and OSA Group.
Max Musselius
Max MusseliusDIRECTOR / ECR RUSSIA
Maximilian is the Executive Director of ECR-Russia. With over fifteen years’ experience within the manufacturing industry at a senior level, he is a graduate of Moscow State University with a Master of Management and Law.
Jenni Särkkä
Jenni SärkkäCDO / GS! FINLAND
Jenni is Chief Development Officer at GS1 Finland and responsible for strategy execution and new business development. She holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration and has previously worked for Nokia and the Posti Group.
Kong Hongliang (Konbright)
Kong Hongliang (Konbright)SECRETARY GENERAL / ECR CHINA
Konbright has been working on the research, standardization, and promotion of Supply Chain, e-Commerce, Healthcare, Logistics, Food safety traceability and IoT topics for more than 20 years. With a Ph.D from Chinese Academy of Sciences, he is also director of the Promotion Department at GS1 China.

Our Partners

Working on behalf of the Retail Sector, the ECR Retail Loss Group is focused upon developing imaginative thinking, new approaches and genuine innovation in the management of retail losses. With membership open to any retailer or product manufacturer, and promoting a collaborative approach, the Group ensures that the results of its extensive and wide-ranging work is made freely available to the industry. It is a separate group to ECR Community but we maintain close links.

EuroCommerce is the principal European organisation representing the retail and wholesale sector. It embraces national associations in 31 countries and 5.4 million companies, both leading global players such as Carrefour, Ikea, Metro and Tesco, and many small businesses. Retail and wholesale provide a link between producers and 500 million European consumers over a billion times a day. EuroCommerce is the recognised European social partner for the retail and wholesale sector.

AIM (Association des Industries de Marque) is the European Brands Association, representing manufacturers of branded consumer goods in Europe on key issues which affect their ability to design, distribute and market their brand.
